Kadhi (Abdominal Treatment)
Inspired by ayurvedic tradition this deeply relaxing treatment is designed to reduce abdominal swelling, alleviate stomach cramps and help to prevent intestinal problems. This treatment is carried out in 3 stages. First of all the treatment begins with a ring of dough being formed around the bellybutton, the dough is made up of powdered vegetal flours such as wheat germ which is rich in vitamin E and contains a high concentration of basil, an active ingredient known for its decongesting and toning properties. The dough ring is designed to act as a sort of dish to keep warm oil in which has been poured in that specific area. So the second stage of the treatment is basically a warm medicated ayurvedic oil being applied to the abdominal area. Once the warm oil begins to cool, the third part of the treatment is carried out which consists of a concentrated abdominal massage, working around the colon (the large intestine) to clear any blockages, relieve consitpation and alleviate trapped wind.
