Mongolian Warm Milk Massage
This traditional ancient Mongolian traetment is carried out in 3 stages, the first stage being a dry body massage; Genghis Khan the great 13th Century ruler believed that fears and preoccupations became trapped and deposited deep within the muscles and tissues of the bodyy and the only way to free them was through the art of massage, resulting in Genghis Khan ordering his warriors to massage themselves and each other before and after battle. The first part of this traditional treatment still follows Genghis Khans theory and uses long smooth strokes along with traditional skin rolling to free any physical, emotional and spiritual pain/ stress.
The second part of this treatment (the actual warm milk application) follows a traditional beauty ritual that has been used throughout Mongolia for centuries and is still carried out today in order to prepare brides for marriage or women for childbirth. This treatment follows the traditional method of applying the warm milk using cloth/ rags soaked in warm milk to soften the skin and restore its natural elasticity, this is followed by an aplication of chick pea flower, a traditional ingredient used for its slightly exfoliating properties, the chick pea flour is designed to stimulate the circulation and leave the skin silky smooth.
The third stage of this treatment consists of a warm oil massage; according to ancient Mongolian Shamanism the body has 3 souls which are believed to be attatched to the bdy at different points, the shamanism philosophy believes that these souls can become detached through battle, stress, pain or illness. A detached soul causes major disruption to the human body, mind and spirit, so in order to prevent soul detachment a warm oil massage is carried out stimulating various Mongolian acupressure points.
